In a tragic turn of events in Mlolongo, located in Machakos County, the lifeless body of Jane Mwende, a salonist who had gone missing, has been discovered abandoned in a dense forest.
The grim revelation of Jane Mwende’s murder came to light following the concerns raised by her worried family and friends regarding her sudden disappearance.
Close relatives recounted the distressing events leading up to Mwende’s disappearance, which prompted an urgent and extensive search for her. However, their worst fears were confirmed on a fateful Monday afternoon when it was shockingly revealed that Mwende had been brutally murdered and her lifeless body discarded in the depths of Makongo forest, situated in Makueni County. Authorities suspect that she was murdered at a different location and then callously disposed of in the forest, presumably in an attempt to erase any incriminating evidence.
The enigmatic disappearance of Mwende had occurred a fortnight prior, shortly after she had received a phone call from a customer. Adding a layer of complexity to the investigation is her romantic involvement with an individual who has become a prime person of interest in her tragic demise.
The individual in question, Januaris Musau, along with his spouse, and another woman identified as Phyllis Mbithi, have since been apprehended by the diligent detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Machakos. Their arrests mark a significant development in the ongoing investigation into this heart-wrenching case.
