The untimely demise of Eric Maigo, a 36-year-old Finance Director employed at a Nairobi hospital, has sent shockwaves rippling through the heart of the city. As authorities intensify their efforts to unveil the truth behind this tragic incident, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is sparing no effort.
Initial findings paint a grim picture: Maigo was discovered lifeless within his Woodley Estate residence, bearing a staggering 16 stab wounds. One crucial detail that has emerged from the ongoing investigation is surveillance footage, which captured Maigo’s return home at approximately 11 p.m. on a Thursday evening. He was accompanied by a female companion, who left her car parked outside the gate before entering his house.
Yet, a perplexing detail emerged from the investigation—a bottle of whisky was found on the table, devoid of any accompanying glasses, implying that they never had the opportunity to share a drink together.
Most disconcerting of all, however, is the fact that ten of the fatal stab wounds were inflicted on Maigo’s chest and back. This merciless and savage assault deepens the enigma shrouding his demise.
As of now, the identity of the perpetrators behind this harrowing attack remains unclear, as does their motive.
Within Maigo’s residence, the police made a chilling discovery: two blood-stained kitchen knives in the sitting room. This revelation has led investigators to suspect the involvement of more than one individual in this heinous crime, casting doubt upon the connection between the assailants and Maigo.
Adding a layer of intrigue to the inquiry, CCTV footage captured another individual leaving Maigo’s compound at approximately 5 a.m. This raises significant questions about the identity of this person and their potential involvement in the tragic events of that night. Neighbors in the vicinity reported hearing loud music emanating from Maigo’s house after his return home, further complicating the narrative surrounding the case.
The inquiry ponders whether the music held any relevance to the incident or was merely coincidental.
In the wake of this shocking tragedy, James Nyamongo, the CEO of the Nairobi Hospital where Maigo was employed, has implored the hospital staff to remain composed as the police intensify their investigation.
Though unconfirmed, reports suggest that Maigo’s lifeless body was discovered by concerned neighbors at around 6 a.m. on that fateful morning, underscoring the shocking and brutal nature of his demise.
