Yesterday’s events in Kenya were shocking and unsettling for many Kenyans. The attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s farm has left many wondering about the state of security in the country. However, what’s even more concerning is the reaction of some of our government leaders.

CS Trade Moses Kuria’s celebratory mood after the attack is not only distasteful but also sends a dangerous message to Kenyans. It’s disheartening that a government official, who is supposed to be working towards the betterment of the country, would react in such a manner. It’s a clear indication that something is not right with our leadership.

Kenyans are left speechless and wondering what our leaders are eating. We are a country that is grappling with various challenges, from the Covid-19 pandemic to the economy, insecurity, and corruption. We need leaders who are empathetic and willing to work towards finding solutions to these problems.

Moses Kuria’s morning message, “The tears of the Karionangi grandmothers who were evicted during heavy rains amidst Covid-19 to pave way for greedy wealth accumulation have reached to the Lord,” is a clear indication of the state of affairs in our country. The government seems to have lost touch with the realities on the ground, and its actions are causing more harm than good.

We need leaders who can empathize with the suffering of ordinary Kenyans and work towards finding solutions. It’s high time our leaders took responsibility for their actions and started working towards a better future for all Kenyans. We can’t afford to continue living in a country where leaders celebrate when fellow citizens are attacked. It’s time for change, and it’s up to all of us to demand it.
