The investigation into the mysterious death of 23-year-old Geoffrey Mwathi has been taken over by detectives from the Homicide department based at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

The directive to do so was issued by Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki, who called for a thorough probe into the matter.

The homicide detectives began a fresh and comprehensive investigation on Friday morning, starting with a visit to Redwood Apartments in Kasarani where Kikuyu benga artist DJ Fatxo resides. Mwathi, an interior designer, fell from the 10th-floor apartment window at DJ Fatxo’s house on February 22, as captured on CCTV footage. Reportedly, Mwathi had been partying with DJ Fatxo and the popular Mugithi singer, along with his cousin and driver, prior to the incident.
